We enable homeless people to offer as well as receive help. We believe that homeless people are a massively untapped resource of skills, creativity, knowledge and experience able to contribute positively to their community.
Argyle Street Housing Co-op (ASH Co-op) is a registered social landlord
which provides housing for anyone in housing need.
Being a co-op means that residents here are both tenants and the landlord.
Jointly the tenants have responsibilty for the management of our houses.
We have 86 tenants living in houses of differing sizes which on a single site.
Our accommodation is almost entirely single rooms in shared houses, i.e.
your room is your own lockable space and you share bathroom, kitchen and
living room with your house mates.
We do accept people on housingbenefit and you don’t need a deposit or a landlord’s reference to get
onto our shortlist.
What you do need to be is enthusiastic aboutco-operative living and be willing to play your part in the running ofthe Co-op.

A mixed, self-sufficient community housing up to 30 people and providing work in their recycling of household goods business. In return for volunteering 5 days per week in the community Companions get their own room with bathroom, meals and payment of bills plus £40 per week pocket money with £8 going into savings on top of that.
Although we operate open access, demand is such that there does now tend to be a waiting list
so in the first instance you should contact a member of the Leadership Team for up to date information.
People can stay for unlimited periods as long as they comply with the house rules which include no alcohol or drugs on site.

Open access mixed sex nightshelter in the basement of Zion Church (dogs allowed).
Stay includes meals, shared dorms, food, shower facilities, clothing, tv, advice etc.
Open from 7pm until 9.30am, 365 days a year. (new clients are asked to arrive at 6pm to check for the availability of spaces)
No out of pocket charge, housing benefit. Advised to bring identification.
